    3. How long you've used the insurance company
    4. What are your rates (approx is ok)
    5. What is your coverage?
    6. Comments, stories, etc. pertaining to insurance
    7. Any claims, and if so, how did they affect your rate?
Also, please PM ***boat with your phone number if you wouldn't mind being interviewed....

    1) 2004 30' Advantage Vicory "V" (850 HP) Twin 496 HO's
    2) Progressive
    3) 2 years
    4) about $1000/yr
    5) 300K (liability); Replacement value, diminishing deductible
    6) Had to change from the company that insured our Four Winns due to the HP involved in this new boat. They said since I didn't have 2yrs experience with it (it is a new boat!) they wouldn't insure it. If I remember the company was through boat us - will have to check records at home.
Regarding the 850 HP and Progressive - the local company had to call for permission from head office (or somewhere) because of the HP. They wouldn't buy the claim that it was safer because of the bone stock twins...
    7) no claims yet.

    3. Only covered since May when the engine was finished.
    4. Approx. $2200 per year, no layup
    5. $300K liability, $50K replacement value
    6. I called over 31 insurance agencies before I found one that would do it. The combination of catamaran hull, length, and hp (800hp) made it almost impossible to insure. I was about to trade it in for a damn Baja before the engine was even completed because I couldn't find coverage.
