I own a 94 Crowline 225 br w/ a 454 motor. I have a very hard time shifting the shifter into gear. I almost have to slam it in. Going into neutral and using the throttle works just fine. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your intermediate shift cable. The short black one that goes through the transom to the drive.

sounds about right. Had the same issue earlier this year.
