My buddy asked me to post some pictures of his rig to see what others would think it would cost to restore his boat back to its better years. The boat has been sitting with out a cover for the last 8 years. We checked the oil and there’s no water in the oil but it probably needs a rebuild. The hull looks pretty good nothing some color sanding wouldn’t fix but the floor needs to be replaced. It also needs a complete new interior and he would like a bench seat for the back. The boat has a Panther Jet which probably needs to be rebuilt. I am sure he needs all new gauges and cables. He is willing to spend about $4,000 to $5,000 to get back to what it once was. If he can’t fix it for that price what do you guys think the boat is worth. He is thinking of selling it as is.

Was there a fire in that boat?
If not, there should be!
I remember 6 years ago that boat didnt look bad.
The boat needs to be GUTTED TO THE GLASS.......
Triple the restoration cost estimate, then go buy a different boat. It needs new everything.
SteveM. - Been there, done that, been burned by the cost.
It's not really worth restoring.
i think there is a dump calling its name.way not worth it.
It can be done, if he does all the labor himself.
Motor - 2-5K
Interior 1.5 - 2 K
Gauges 300-500
Wood and fiberglass 300-1K
Steering 300
Time 8 months to 2 years.
If it had any sentimental value to him it would not set out unprotected for 8 years, so you know his heart (and wallet) is not in the restore. First thing I would invest in is a garage or at least a carport for protection and dump the money in another boat that he can be proud of and take care of.
