Why dose the fuel line come out the top of the tank? would it make a difference if it was at the bottom of the tank gravity style tank? or is there a reason they come out the top of the tanks! can some one give me a CLUE! THANK YOU.

Compare the difference if the fitting breaks at the top of the tank, versus a fitting at the bottom. Also might have something to do with not allowing fuel to flow without the fuel pump in operation. Gravity and pressure constantly allowing fuel to flow into the carb.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that in case of a fuel line failure, it won't empty into the boat.
