gibson recomends that you use them, especialy if they are below water line!
I'm running them with the rubbers.
Well it looks like I need to use the rubbers.....
use the rubber but put a screw in them mine stayed on about 5 minutes!
oh yea have not had the rubbers on since i lost them.
The rubber flappers will aslo knock down a couple db's. The main reason for a rubber flapper is to prevent water from splashing up the exhaust. This usually will happen if you beach your boat on the river side of the sandbar. If the exhaust exits above the water level then it is a personal prefrence. If it exits below the water then it is a must.
I have 'em on and have never lost them. After these stories, I think I'll give 'em a little tighten before the weekend.
