how do you remove the metering plate on a holley carb?

I dunno about you guys in SoCal, but around here a "good auto parts store" no longer exists. hell, i went into my local napa store told the guy i was looking for a " timing indicator tab" for my bbc, that was in my boat, he told me i had to go to a marine specialty shop, my jaw just dropped!!..lol
