What is the trick to using wired remotes with Alpine headunits? Something you can share, or something you sell? I would like to know, as I may be upgrading to a 9857.
    Thanks

    Rick,
He makes a module out of a Pac part and dials it in so it works with the alpine.(He builds and sells them)
I am running a 9857 and the 2 wired remotes work perfect.
The new Alpine is pretty slick.....I swear the sound is alot cleaner than it was with the sony

    It's all Good
I got the interface from him 2 weekends ago. Works great. You can add as many Access Tech remotes you want.

Have you had any problems with the 9857 having only a 2 v pre amp?

At $400 MSRP, add an Audio Control Matrix 6 channel line driver for $150. 2v pre, 4v pre, they all suck. 11v preout is where it's at. Go big or go home.
