Hi Everyone,
I wanted to see if there was any interest in my boat. Looks like I am getting laid off due to budget cuts from the government on the DoD program I work on. Found out wife is expecting too so just putting feelers out because we might need some extra money. It kills me to possibly sell this boat, but you do what you have to do.
Boat goes into storage Oct 1 and I won't have access to it until Apr 1 so if your interested please let me know ASAP. Boat is going to dealer for winterization and final wax job of the year today. This boat is a rocket out of the hole with excellent acceleration.
2005 Ultra 27 Shadow Mid-Cabin Bowrider, Viper V-10 550, Teague Platinum XR Drive, Dtainless Prop, Scissor Hinges, Dual Batteries with Billet Boxes, Dana Billet Seat Bases, Aqua step ladder, Hydraulic sponson tabs, mirrored engine hatch, Gibson Bullet Mufflers, Pioneer CD/MP3 stereo system, and custom travel cover (soft under cover & canvas).
Engine has 31.1 hours on it and the boat is extremely clean!

Sweet looking Ultra. I wish I could afford to buy it. That is the exact boat and set up I want. What kind of speeds are you getting with that set up? Sorry about your job situation. That sucks! :frown:

Right now I am seeing 83-84 @ ~5400 rpm. I've talked to the techs at Ilmor and they say I need to aim for 58-5900. Limiter is @ 6000. So unfortunately I didn't get as much prop testing as I wanted to done, but I think with the right prop, the boat would be pushing 90 mph. I've been amazed with the acceleration with this boat. With the tabs up, the nose barely comes up. With the tabs down, the nose stays just about flat. I only use the tabs for tubing.

Funny you should ask. I am actually waiting on a response from Bob Mason or Ian Hawkins from Ilmor on that very same question. Hopefully I will something back sometime today. When I do, I'll post their response.

Sorry to hear you have to sell the boat. One of the nicest gel coats designs I've seen. Nice boat

Thanks RiverCrazy. John did an amazing job with this design. Up close the gel looks like it is tectured. Really top notch job!!
I also wanted to state there are no liens on this boat and I do have possession of the title.

INSman...finally heard from Ilmor. Looks like you can upgrade. There is some work to the engine as well as a software upgrade that would have to be performed. They didn't go into details of the engine work. They did say they have several customers they are working with to upgrade the 550 to the 625.
