Yeah, something is not working right.
Seriously, more info is needed. does the engine turn over? does it have a fuel or spark problem, did you have any problems on any of the runs?

No, no, no, no! It's definitely not the canuder valve.
Sounds like a mufler bearing getting tight, just beginning stages of a seizure.

How about this one...torque the lug nuts on the trailer

    check for a bad ground??
too much paint on some mating surface causing a bad ground?

Pull the long bolts out of the end cover of the starter. Look at the bushing, is it worn oval on the bottom? If so, turn it 180 degrees, now the lower side is not worn and the starter armature won't drag on the field windings. If this cures it, you're not done, go get a starter at your earliest convience.......MP
I think fords have those long bolts?? Either way check the brush end bushing

ok ok so i'm a silly noob...I checked the muffler bering and it is missing as per the owners manual that came with the boat...riiiight... and the canutor valve is within specs..
No problems on the runs usual stuff up and down river, just wont crank over when "hot"...
I will check grounds and other electrical connections but it only happens after running around for a bit..
I admit I am not a motor guy but some help on where to look would be nice
