How in the hell do they think they can predict the path of a hurrican?

    Rita prediction. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7845030)
Look at the path of the other Hurricans. Doesn't look very predictable to me.

Well lets see. They've been doing it for years and every year technology gets better and they always seem to be pretty close. They nailed where Katrina was going to go.

The National Hurricane Center uses at least five computer models. The single track you see on the news is often the average of the tracks from the various models (although the people at the NHC can adjust the track based on their expertise and other factors). There's all kinds of info about the models on the NHC site. Here are the current models for Rita:

Look at the path of Katrina compared to Jeanne and Charley.
Then where the chart says Rita is going. It's like drunk driving.

Out in the Gulf with all that warm water besides getting stronger :crossx: there are lots of factors that can change it's course , ....fronts, upper wind shear , along with the regular air currents trends hell it could just stall out for days ,then go a completely new route

If you look at the predicted sustained winds ???
at 48 hrs. its 143mph .....but at 72hrs. it drops to 137mph..
for some reason to me , being out in the Gulf and all that Warm Water ...I just dont see that happening , it should get only stronger ???? No ??
