Sounds like Al hooked you up! You will like the motor slightly lower.... you get better acceleration and overall ride. Good luck with the case.

Just got back from Johns Custom Marine where Al Stoker hooked my Evinrude V8 up with all the goods...
I got a Second Effort Lower installed, this unit is WAY BETTER then my previous one...just hope it lasts with my lead foot...
Engine slightly lowered, which was no easy task, this will slow my machine down a bit but preserve the lower...I had it setup for max speed/surface too hard on the lower
leak down/compresion...all is good at 170psi
Timing adjust was off a good amount
Spark test
a few tweeks to the linkage
and a good over all look over...
THat guy knows his stuff, I would recommend his service to anyone...
Oh yeah and I saw DUSTINU 's Stoker in the shop...
My boat got a clean bill of health for a very reasonable price...
Now im back in the water tomorrow am
Thanks Al!

Well just got back from the Lake, I did exactly what Al told me too on the break in process, 2hrs being nice...after that got refueled and did some speed runs...
This this handles even better and now I can put the power down...
the prop shaft is inline with the bottom sponson, before it was 1.25" above...big change
Interesting
what is?
Just interesting.
Yeah I never thought much about these old OMC V8's but aparently mine is a good one...for now anyway...knock one wood
I lost my good prop so I used a mazco 30P I had...POS at 88 it washes the ass end out real bad..
gotta get me the Choper2 26p or another SRX27p or my buddies say the Lightning ET
Al definetly knows his stuff...
I am getting ready to pull the trigger on the 225 H.O. e-tech probably tuesday. And she just got a new gas tank as well. It is going to feel like a completly different boat!
Glad your rides treatin you right.
Man that 225Ho will be the shiat!!! I saw he had the tank out and the lower was on its way out...
Im gonna wait for the 400HP V8 well thats my plan any way, I would like to get a few seasons out of this one..
I was really impressed with the 400hp V6 EFI he had on the Dyno...
I wonder how long those big HP V8's last?
