Pull your crank and then look in the center oiling holes. 455 main caps are torqued to 120#.

I have my motor out of the boat and the pan off and dont know where to look to see if I have the needed Main restrictors? Where do I look? Do I need to take a main cap off or somethin? please advise. If it is under a main cap can you also tell me what to tourque the main cap to on reinstall. I dont have a book.

pull the crank as in remove timing chain all rods and main caps?

Yes. MAIN restrictors are pressed into the main oiling holes in the block.
Yeah, kinda more work than you were expecting, huh!
exactly to much work to check if they already there or not. I have ARP rod bolts,12 Quart Dooley pan,looks to be balanced,pushrods might be the Mondello restricted ones (im not sure) so Im hoping restrictors in there. I have had it wide open numerous times for more then 3 min and nothin blew.No bearing shavings in pan. Ill just cross my fingers then I guess.
