Man, that is the truth.
A couple weeks ago we took the boat out and ran for about an hour, all was well. The boat had recently had hot start problems, so I decided to take her in close to the dock before shutting it down to see if it would restart OK. Somebody else in the boat [Hi honey, you aren't reading my posts on HB are you?] said "this is close enough", so I shut it down about 20 yards away from the dock. Wouldn't start. Nothing. I should have just paddled in right then or flagged a tow, but I got out the tool box and started messing with the switch etc., and by the time I gave up we had drifted about 100 yards further out. Ended up paddling about half way in against the wind before some guy in one of those deformed quiet boats with the blender thingee on the back came by and towed us in. :yuk:
