Which is better for dialing a cam in, offset bushing or offset key?
Any advice on the dial in?

I agree, go for the bushing, or buy a Cloyes Hex-a-just. If you use a 2 piece timing cover, you can adjust it easily.

okay, ive got a question-sort of related. Does it make sense to advance a cam until the cylinders are making maximum pressure?
