Why would someone want one over the other? How do you decide which one you need?

I have hear that the mechanical sec gave an advantage on take off. Not too sure about that............ I have ran both and had great success.......

Randy......a mechanical secondary carb is always the first choice but you must have enough engine to handle it otherwise a vacume secondary carb is preferred.......List some of your engine specs and we can help you decide........A mechanical double pumper comes in real quick when you throttle it and if the engine is kinda on the small side it can have a hesitation/bog before it comes alive....Jesse
