From the HIN, it is a 1978. The "SRW" is currently assigned to "Savage River Work" but was previously assigned to "Sterling Boat Co." I vaguely recall hearing of jets by that name. The gauge pods might be a good clue. A while back Old Rigger mentioned a boat builder who did that. Might want to contact him.
As I see you have already noticed, it looks a lot like the boat in the LilRick @ Parker thread
    Finally, here's a pic of yours that didn't come up(too many http://)

Here's a link to one in the reader's rides on Jet Boat Performance site. More of a mini-daycruiser, though.

    outlaw,
    got your pm.
If your boat is a Sterling, they were made here in so cal, in Norwalk, or around that area. But the boat you pictured here was originaly marty hatchells 19 footer, the one with the angled gauge bezzels in the dash. He was an old school rigger from the Tahiti days with my dad and then later he branched out to build Hornet boats. I worked with him in the 90s at Howard. Those bezzels were done with empty beer cans when they were tooling up the plug.
Sterling must have splashed that one too. We also did at Hawaiian. It's also the foundation for the Sagurao that Jack Mc built. At least that's what he said. He was a friend of Martys.
My friend had a Sterling for quite a few years, different hull than yours though. It was one of the biggest piece of shit hulls I've ever seen and it had more hook in it than I've ever seen in a boat. About 2 1/2 inches on the right side and a little less on the other. What a turd. On the other hand, Sterling also made a very cool tunnel back then, kind of like an old Carlson, but a true tunnel, not one that faded into a flat bottom. Those were fast and I see one everynow and then. Cool looking boat but the hulls and the way they were built was pretty weak.
