I am not sure how well the steel screen will flow, but if you take the mesurements I think you can have K&N make ou some replacement filters to take there place and that would help a ton.

    hey yellow...
thats a pretty kewl looking arrestor...polished up, it should look awsome...i think it will flow ok with the steel screens...heres a thought...if u turn it end to end (screens faceing front & back)...it will flow alot more air to the carb & i think it will work great...just my .02 cents

Don't just make a statement like that and go away. Explain why it's dangerous.

I would talk with K&N over that. Being they have a whole marine catolog of filters for marine use.

    Hey Berk...
i dont want to start an arguement...but...u must be from Calif?...i can prob understand that...everything there is f***ed up...i live in Az & things here are kewl!...besides...as H2OT said...whats the danger prob??...i dont see any...set-up end to end is only flowing more air thru the carb...the screens/filters are still in place...as far as u getting a ticket...u must have done something else wrong or a boat cop had it in for u...cause like Jim said...the filters/screens are USCG approved

Marine Approved per SAE J1928 Flame Arrestor Standard
    http://www.knfilters.com/marine/flamearrester.htm
Coast Guard Regulations stipulate that all gasoline-powered watercraft be equipped with flame arrestors. Until now, that meant choosing between a Coast Guard citation or restricted airflow. The K&N Flame Arrestor eliminates the need to choose. K&N’s Flame Arrestor is the performance and safety product that boat owners have been waiting for.
