I have a Toshiba 4:3 that is roughly 3 years old but it is HDTV capable. It does not have the HD tuner but it is supposed to be 1080i. The cable company is coming to install the DVR/HDTV cable box so I can see programs in HD when broadcasted.
    1. Will I have any problems with my TV?
    2. Will the picture of HD shows be displayed in 16:9?
I realize I can get this stuff off the air for free but I would need a serious antenna where I live.

You shouldn't have any problems. They or you will link the box and tv using component cables for the picture( 3 video cable set) and either rca, digital coax, or tosslink(optical (square plug)) for sound.
your picture will be 16:9, but it will be really good

That sounds great!! I have a nice 5.1 surround sound system!!!
Maybe the wife will get tired of the black bars and give me the green light on the Hitachi 42" Plasma!!
