oh ya my dad is a tv repair man.
Im going to be filling mine and installing new intake in two weeks, same deal as you guys. Ill be taking pics.

I would glass the entire hole. Take lots of measurements first. If you are comfortable with how the current hole is centered(after measuring) Id mark it fore and aft of the current hole so you can locate the center when you go to cut the new hole. If you ever wanted a setback pump, now is the time.
