1st. I don't own a jet boat anymore. You are working really hard to get a jet
boat circle class going again, which is great. Maybe NJBA would be a better
place to do this. In the old days (late 70's & early 80's) to win high points
in a NJBA class you had to run drags, circles, and saloms. Everyone in
ski jet I, ski jet II, Mod Jet, Comp Jet, and K-Jet had to run all three events
at every race. It was great entertainment, guys in gull wings, and
eliminator daytona's doing circles & saloms. But honestly everyone had
a great time. Oh, I forgot they had Powder Puff saloms, you could hear
Debbie Christensen, & Rod Bahner's girl friend (co-rider) laughing louder
than the motor as they ran the salom course. Debbie is a really good
jet circle driver. As an entry level class NJBA is less expensive for most
racers than APBA, since you just run six races at one location. APBA if you
start chasing points you can run fifteen plus races per year, all over the
country. At NJBA you can get bracket racers who have lost in round one
or two, to try circle racing. Once they go around a few corners they
don't want to drag race again. Good luck and I hope you can revive the
class.
