COme on, nobody here will help the new guy???
I am considering a quad rotor for my street/strip car and need some advice from people who are running them.
My engine is a 632 BBC currently at 12.5:1 with a .800" roller and nitrous.
1)what compression ratio should I run?
2)how much boost will I be able to run on pump gas?
3)where is the best place to buy them, and what is a ballpark cost for the blowers?
4)how much camshaft should I run with the above?
I want to run it carburated, since I already have one 1350 dominator.
Thanks in advance,
RyanH

Ryan,
Sorry it took so long, but you certainly need to get the compression down if your going to run anything less than 110 octane. I would bring the compression down somewhere in the 8.5:1 range. With this, and an intercooler, you should be able to run 10lbs. of boost, crank it up to 16 with race gas and you'll have a torque monster, were talking gobs of power!! As for camshaft, we can talk about that, but we can go very agressive because of our bypass system which helps the motor idle down. The best place is from us for something like this, as it's a bit more custom than the normal marine motor. Price can range from 5500-11,000 depending on what parts, size, finish, etc.
Thanks,
Dustin
Thanks Dustin.
I just bought the engine as-is so will run it this season with high compression N/A.
Next winter when I freshen it up, I will consider the whipple quad rotor.
8.5:1 is about what I figured - they even suggested lower on their website. 10psi will work intercooled on pump gas? How about if I don't go with the intercooler right away - how much boost could I run on pump gas? C16?
No problems with staying carburated?
Do you work for whipple?
Thanks,
Ryan
