For some reason I was expecting an Olds thread. :crossx:
Well after 2 weeks of rushing here and there for this and that. We (Mikester and I ) put the Condor together for the Memorial weekend an off to Bartlett we went.
Dropped it in the water and fired her up. sounded great.. let her warm up and then Mikester cracked the throttle. (about 1/4) and she took off about 20 yards then the niose from HELL.
Rattle, Rattle, crash, boom, bang, clank, clang, knock, knock, knock.
Not totally sure but I think she broke at least 1 rod.
This is the boat that was loaned to a family member and got it real hot (he states that the boat ran fine) and had a cracked head (460 Ford Cast Iron head )
Looks like a rebuild will be happening real soon. Not what I wanted to do for the rest of the season.

You azzhole.
I'm about betting you find a spun rod bearing, yea, I'm sure you broke at least 1.
Trying to figure out how the overheat/head crack would add up to the throwing of the rod. :yuk:
Any chance of the crack making it hydraulic a cyl and bending a rod unnoticed?!?!?!? Kinda suspecting this line here. :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:
Condors are suposed to be in the air, not the water. I've got a set of heads too ;-)
