First of all, my thoughts go out to Steve's wife and kids.........with that said, anyone who knows tunnel boating should send any potential buyers their way(they do build one of the best built, best running products around......even including v bottom builders). Every boat inthusiast should appreciate what Steve was doing for the industry...........if not for people like him and his associates, we would still be running ill handling hydros with allison motors to the sandbar...........we'll miss him, but won't forget him............

If everyone had those hydros I think we would be allot better off in allot of ways.
Long live 2 in free board!

Great respect for Steve and what he did with his HTM product, but thank you "Playdeep". I own a 19' Eliminator Daytona. I believe this is the hull that really started the tunnel craze around 1976! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/cool.gif

Thats right HH. I was only two months old cruisin' Havasu in a 100+ lake tunnel. Unblown 19' Daytona. Many Daytonas followed. That hull did wonders for the boating industry. It is still very competitive.

With all due respect,I think steve was still painting houses when Eliminator already had about 5 or 6 tunnels to choose from.
Steve stood on a few shoulders to achieve his goals.

It's not a matter of being a leach fan,But your terming of Innovation and the weight you were giving to (Steve = Innovator, (People like him = a couple of other guys that had so little to do with it their names are not worth mentioning, this was the way your terming came across.
There were alot of other builders around constructing sound hulls other than Hydros when steve was still painting houses.
And Eliminator did lay the tracks down for custom tunnel boats in the industry, so at risk of being labeled a leach fan this is the proper place for the term innovation when referring to tunnel hulls.
Just remember this is a debate of facts its not personal, welcome to the boards.
May I suggest a new set of Glasses.
