lean problem!

ok i got the new 850dp (9380) on my bbc and took it out, running 8psi on fuel, the carb came with #78 jets all the way around but the plugs are bright white and the electrode is kinda bluish, spark plugs are 44's and it's also hell to start i would have thought that 78's would be plenty but maybe not? could i need a lighter power valve or just bigger jets?? any suggestions are welcome

My holley likes alot of jet in er. I think I've got 90 's in it. came with 85's

My mighty demon came with 85 & 93 and I had to step up to 88 & 96 before the plugs started to change color.
