NICE, thats a great way to start the day. Those boats haul ass. Is that the
Aussie version of a K-boat??
Yes this is an Aussie version on a USA K - Boat. This is the boat that we had Larry Hamilton of Liquid Fix SS98 drive in Australia in 2003 & 2004 with much success. Owned & normally driven by Brian McCosker. Awesome little deal. Boat & engine combo as follows:
18' Shallow V Bottom Childsplay Hull
366ci small block blown & injected Chevrolet
1071 Blower normally running 50% or more overdrive in the blower
Twin Plug Cylinder Heads
Twin Magnetos
Will run a genuine 140mph + every straight away in race conditions
Brian also has another engine combination he runs on certain courses in this boat, as follows:
410ci smal block blown & injected Chevrolet
PSI Supercharger running 50% or more overdrive
Twin Plug Cylinder Heads
Twin Magnetos
This engine made 2200hp on the dyno not too long ago.
Checkout Brian's website below for more info, he manufactures a lot of his engine parts. Go to the photo gallery & you will find photos of the boat, another short race video & a cool video of a dyno run they did with the 410 PSI engine.

Those babies get up and down the straights. Nice vid.
Anyone in the USA run a small block k-boat ??
Is it an actual Liberty hull ? Or just what they call it?
Tis a Childsplay hull built by the Newell brothers out of Dargle, Sydney, "Liberty" tis just the name on this one.
Brian McCosker is a top bloke and a very good engine man, builds his own cylinder heads and valve train gear, rumour hasit he is retiring and the boat is up for sale, would be awesome to see how it would go up against the American K-Boats.
Does anyone know if the Aussie log boats have ever had a raced against the American K Boats, heard a story that an Aussie by the name of Peter Smith took an Everingham up to the USA in the mid to late 80s to race in the K class, anyone remember this boat or driver?
It woulda looked a lot like the boat in my avatar
