Note to self for next time. When valves need adjusting because of ticking find the reason. Hard way to learn this is what you just experienced. Not making fun by any stretch, done it myself in the past. Just a good general engine rule to live by.
Time for the roller cam upgrade.
Keith, I feel your pain. Wiped my new Cam in 15 min.last year.
Whats got me thinking is why would a all ready broke in Came go by-by? How much time is on that Cam? And if your Cam Lobe and lifter looked anything like mine...the whole motor must come apart and completely cleaned out. I used a oil galley brush kit w/ hot soapy pressured water for the job.
PS. it also was #8 on my motor that went...and fast to.
