#6 is heavier...and needs a transmission.
Why not go Teague 1000? Might be cheaper...A few guys around here are running bigger power with the Teague and Imco units...

If I ever win the lottery this is what I would do, tell me what you think. The new dcb f26 with the new mercury 1050SCi and #6 drive. According to Hot Boat just the motor and the dive run $124,000. Has anyone ever seen a combo like this. I have heard the #6 drives are heavier than the bravo's and dont even know if they would work in a boat this size. So what do you think
#6 is heavier...and needs a transmission.

And they keep breaking them........
THE BOAT IS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR A # 6 DRIVE.
THE TRANSMISSION TAKES UP TO MUCH ROOM.
YOU WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE MOST OF YOUR PASSENGER AREA. IF YOU GOING TO SPEND THE MONEY BUY A BIGGER BOAT.
JUST MY OPINION......AND THIS IS FROM SOMEBODY THAT CAN'T AFFORD EITHER COMPONENT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.IF YOU DO DECIDE TO GO FOR IT PLEASE GIVE ME A RIDE!!!!!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading in Hot Boat about a 25' Eliminator Daytona that had a #6 drive on it with some sick horsepower. Did like 130mph. Anybody remember reading this?
Reaper1,
Your correct on the 25 Daytona with the 6 drive. Here's a photo - it it works. That has to be one bad ass ride.
Guess it didn't work. How the hell do you post pictures?

Yaaaaaa, thats what I'm talking about. Do you have any more info. on that boat. That drive unit is the sickest looking thing. Check out that cleaver too.
Gary Teague at GT Performance, Montclair, CA
has built many of these set ups; both with IMCO's and dry sump #6's. The back seat is moved forward for the 6 drive. It also helps the balance of the boat...
