So what do I do if the boat owner doesn't have the title? Is ther a way to get a new one?
Edit*IGNORE* wow this forum moves fast.
Refer to the first sentence of my last post.Sounds like a real POS.Go buy a boat trader and find one with a title.

only "Hot Boats" have those Deb :crossx:
Ohio is a title state, the boat should have a title. Have the owner get a duplicate because Florida will want a title. What year was the boat manufactured?
If the boat is older than 1972, it won't have a Hull Identification Number (HIN, same as a motor vehicle's VIN) embossed or applied on the hull.
The number that starts "OH" on the bow is the registration number (same as a vehicle license plate number). The Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources is the titling/registration Agency for that state. Have the owner contact the Ohio DNR and get a duplicate title before you buy it.
Otherwise you'll never be able to get it into your name.
you don't want that boat even if it's free. those old OMC outdrives are way past their day. They sucked back then and now you won't get parts for it.
