I bought an Envoy Denali and I swear it is as nice as my Escalade! And the 5.3L is a great package for that thing!
I don't think GM will fade away too quickly!

GM had there best year ever and there on the brink of bankruptsy. GM may have moved the most cars off the dealers lots but the profit margin was pretty slim. Hope they can keep it up.
GM did NOT have their best year ever they just sold more than Ford.... Toyota and Nissan should have been close to their best year....

They had a great year thanks to "Employee Pricing". I predict GM and Ford will have a horrible 2006. A lot of people bought new vehicles because of the incentives the U.S. automakers were offering. I think they stole a lot of sales from future auto buyers that were on the fence or planning on buying vehicles this year. Sales were way down for GM and Ford in the month of December even with the incentives they offered through the holiday season.
Here is a article from todays paper.
Ford loses top spot to Chevrolet
AUTOMOTIVE: Asian automakers saw their sales, and their market share, in the U.S. increase in 2005.
08:44 PM PST on Wednesday, January 4, 2006
    The Associated Press
DETROIT - Chevrolet was the best-selling brand in the U.S. market in 2005, outpacing Ford for the first time in 19 years, General Motors Corp. said Wednesday. But that was where the good news ended for GM and other U.S. automakers, who continued to lose ground to foreign rivals.
Japanese automakers Toyota Motor Corp. and Nissan Motor Co. and South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co. all reported sales increases of 9 percent or more for the year.
Toyota, whose U.S. sales were up 10 percent over 2004, said its Camry sedan was the best-selling car in the United States for the fourth year in a row, while its Lexus nameplate was the best-selling luxury brand.
Meanwhile, 2005 sales fell4 percent at both U.S. industry leaders GM and Ford Motor Co. while sales rose 4 percent. DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group sales rose 5 percent.
U.S. automakers also reported disappointing results for December despite a new round of holiday discounts.
GM's December sales were down 10 percent, Ford fell8.7 percent and Chrysler was down 5 percent as payback from strong summer sales continued.
Toyota's December sales were up 8 percent, while Hyundai's were up nearly 16 percent as customers snapped up the 2006 Sonata. Honda Motor Co.'s December sales were off 3 percent while Nissan's were off1 percent.
GM's sales decline for the year included a 7 percent decline in car sales and a 2 percent decline in sales of trucks and sport utility vehicles. Although Chevrolet sales slipped slightly from last year to 2.6 million, they outpaced Ford by around 21,000 vehicles thanks to strong pickup sales and enthusiasm for GM's new HHR crossover.
Ford's sales drop reflected lower consumer demand for trucks and sport utility vehicles in the face of high gas prices. Chrysler's rise for the year was due to hot-selling models such as the Chrysler 300 sedan.

Congrats to GM.. BUT I think I read somewhere that it was for total vechicles sold. Where Ford has the #1 selling pickup, sales of the F-series truck outsells Chevy and GM trucks combined. And I believe the F-series was the #1 selling vechicle sold in the world?
