huh that just seems a little low. I will be building a blower motor anyway.
The only way to get any more power to speak of would be to put some boost to it or a shot of nitrous. Lower compression for these options.
It already needs 91 octane to run a decent amount of ignition timing.

How much more? Well if the motor is really running efficiently @ those numbers then more means more RPMs. More RPMs = broken Bravo! Those Bravos (any brand of TRICK one) don't like continuious 6000 RPM runs. If you don't mind the blower sticking up, you can make a pump- gas 509 (7.5 comp.,7 lbs non cooled) push a Conquest deck to 92 MPH, BUT THE DRIVE DON"T LIKE IT! I'm not trying to push/ sell anything here, I cann't touch any more motor work until January anyway. If you do have questions about any motor, gfinishline@yahoo.com Thanks
well this would be going into a 19 daytona or something first of all. Not a cruiser. So I am not worried about the drive because the jet can take it. I was talking about info's motor also, not your 540 although I would like to know who is building your 540 that makes all its power under 5500. That would make a great jet boat motor also.
Second I don't know if you are from group 1. But I was out on a test drive just this last thursday on a conquest 28 deck and it was a very nice running boat. Planed out great and turned solid.
