We rent the birds from Helistream with a pilot. Crazy f-er's will land anywhere. I think the A-Stars are around $3M. We were doing about 130 knots most of the day, with a good load on. Can't comment on the guns though...

Those are some cool ass pictures. I am sure it is like any job it gets old but you must go to some pretty cool places. What does it cost to rent a pilot and bird for the day? Put up some more pics, that one with it sitting on top of the mountain looks a little crazy.

It doesn't get old. Those things are FUN no matter what we end up doing after we get to where we are going...
They charge $1200 an hour. Anytime, anywhere. They've landed us under power lines, on rocks, you name it. Sometimes they just set a skid and you hop off... Pretty funny when the pilot is watching the front and you're hanging out the door making sure the tail rotor doesn't get into trouble getting in or out. This is one of my fav's:
