I'm thinkin a good mod for you would be to put some wheels on the cage. That way you can keep going, regardless of what side is up or down.

We're headed out Feb 9th through the 12th. I checked the calendar again and President's weekend is the 18 through 20th, with the official "Observed President's Day Holiday" on the 20th of Feb.
So we're headed out the weekend before President's day .
