Thread: New, uncompleted. Just a thought

Just looking for a builder that will sell the hull (with gel), full interior and trailer. I want to do all the electrical (lighting, gauges, stereo, all other misc rigging, etc), motor, drive, and everything else to finish. I dont want a fixer-upper, but would like to build from a new hull with interior. Curious how much it would cost for a typical 26-28 cat with open bow or a deck. I know all builders have different prices, but if a typical cat costs, say $80k complete, what would it cost the way I mentioned? Of course this would be cheaper overall, but I would like to take on project like this. Just a thought, so be nice

Go price a 26-28 cat... $80K might be a little light, even with base power.

    That was just an example.

I would say 60K would get you close then you need rigging, motor and drive.

Well, lets look at it this way..........If I was to buy a 496, exhaust, Bravo 1 and all rigging and electrical stuff, what would be a ballpark price?

A hull and interior probably set you back around 40k for a 25 cat. Call all the manufactuers tell them what you want and how much you want to spend. Thats the way we built our boat and saved a ton of cash.

I believe someone is selling a 500HP pretty cheap in the spam section.

I bought my 29 cat 3.5 years ago and did less motor and drive... Im pretty sure they knocked of $18,000 off the base price. I was lucky to get mine when I did as they gave my a boat show special and their introductory pricing. So I got quite a deal on mine.

    thats a difficult answer.
it mainly depends on the manufacturer and where the retail started but I would figure you can deduct $15,000 less 496HO motor (+/- couple thousand).
also other items can add up quick XR drive $7k, couple grand for gauges and controls, etc. etc.
Also typical 26 cats are going to be above $90k. Thats without bling. 28's are way more than that.

show-off .... next one for sure!! no more mercury motors for me. :yuk: :yuk:
BTW in case you haven't noticed, these guys are more about spending obscene amounts of money rather than saving it.... :rollside: :rollside:
Thats the way we built our boat and saved a ton of cash.
