I have a canvas boat cover that is loosing its ability to repel water... I read in a boating magazine you can use Thompson's water seal to water proof your boat canvas again...
Anyone ever heard of this or tried it? Any other suggestions or products to try?
    THANKS.

If yur cover is made with Sunbrella or similar acrilic material it is treated with a flourocarbon to resist water. If you wash it with detergent ( Tide Dawn etc.) you wash this out. Apco and 303 are some re- treaters. Never heard about Thompsons on a cover. Might want to test an area of the cover and see what it does to the Gel/Paint also. Where the cover hits the seats might be a problem also.
