Why would the big block not be blown?
john i knew what you would say. but if i could get rid of a few hundred pounds the sbc with a blower may be the way to go. pat(slotracer)
info do you think a 6-71 would be big enough for a bbc? thanks pat(slotracer)
I have a good 406 combination that I have run in the past.
Went 93 MPH in a 21' stern drive boat.
Single carb B&M 250 hydraulic roller.
Some boost is 10 times better than none.
HI PAT, go for bbc blown, keep it mild on pump gas and run the boat forever. 671 will be just fine and alot more reliable than NOS. call jim brock remember his blown brown tunnel dragster.
Regardless of which engine you build, there's some other stuff you should definately do. Have the intake insert removed from the hull, machined for a shoe and ride plate, and reset at 4 degrees up angle. Have the jet blueprinted by MPD or Shoemaker and put a droop snoot on it.
Those changes alone were worth 7-8 mph on my '77 Southwind Tunnel.
i got this boat from sanger mike and it already has the shoe and ride plate and the droop i just have to finish the ride plate assembly. do you have any pictures of yours. thanks
