Educate us. Sounds like a trade story or something lurks behind the scenes.

Greed, 27% tariffs, blatant disregard for free trade and WTO rulings is the short version.

Protectionism, just like socialism, has NEVER been successful and lays the ground work for the protected industries to die a horrible death. It has been proven hundreds of times over that allowing free trade actually is the quickest way to help raise industry standards and prices in the long run. It is a difficult concept to understand for many as it does not happen over night and people have to endure change including job loss, just like lower taxes actually increases tax revenue is an impossible concept for pinko liberal socialist who have never had a real job to understand(trickle down economics), as history has proven itself many times over. And, much of the protectionism is littered with kick-backs and bribes to those that provide the protection....protection money if you will - government sponsored racketeering. Although Canada has its own tariffs too.
Although I am too stupid to hold down a regular job, so I went to work for someone who would never fire me....me. Although I have come close a couple of times. Seriously though, I was lucky to have a dad who taught me, starting back as early as 1972, that there was no such thing as job security and be prepared for change; also don't rely on skills that are repeatitive that could be replaced by machines or cheap labor. So, I have never looked for a secure job, I have always looked for opportunities. So when changes come, those who look for the opportunities in change will be the winners, and those who look to protect and resist change will always be the biggest losers. It is funny how the people who focus mostly on what they have to lose, always lose the most.
Oh yah, we will probably hear from the crowd who is worried about the U.S. being taken over by foreign countries by buying the U.S. That theory is based in paranoia of change.

I guess reading the article was out of the question then!
"His charges are, after all, 17-to-19-year-old boys, not architects of the war against Iraq," the columnist said.
If it had been the other way around, McMartin wrote – an American crowd chanting "Canada sucks" – there would be "country-wide alarm" accompanied by a televised forum on the "crisis in U.S.-Canadian relations."
The free trade thingy gave me a nice chuckle ...anyway while you are at it like us bad Americans!! I would Myself Read Previous story--- a Hint it is about a Pee Wee Hockey team for God sakes:
Canadians hurl abuse at U.S. hockey players
anti-American propaganda, jealousy, and WAY too many liberals nothing but a bunch of little ankle biters. No problem we will soon go up there knock all the trees down and drill holes then spill Oil all over it.

You made a comment about free trade. Either it applies or it doesn't, picking and choosing when and where to apply it is BS, and yes I do know alot about the softwood lumber dispute
As for the peewee game out east that area is in the heart of the liberal stronghold of Canada. The crap in the stands is just that CRAP, the on ice stuff is just part of the game and happens at all levels

You have big corps whining to the governor that they can't compete with Canadian corps cause they pay too much for stumpage fees. The funny thing is that these Canadian companies are spin offs of US corps or are Canadian with US arms that compete on both sides of the border.
The WTO ruled against the tariffs imposed by the US and the ruling has been ignored and that has pissed off many people. And after the storms that hit the SE US the anouncement that the tariffs would be relaxed had the same effect.
We had maybe 30% of the US market and have probably 30 times the assets
