Are you looking for something right on the delta, or are you looking for lakes. I don't know much about the Sac delta area, but it seems like Discovery Park on The Garden Hwy is a good place to launch. Otherwise, head down to Hwy 12, and launch at Tower Park, or B&W. Good luck, and welcome aboard!!!

you can see a whole bunch of pictures from our annual Tower Park get together at this link

just click on the links under the Tower Park heading. The launch ramp at Tower Park is pretty steep and really isn't too user friendly. I've found it best to let the people at TP launch the boat using their tractor.
Tiki Lagun (that's the way they spell it) has a pretty good launch ramp and isn't too far from ski beach and Lost Isle. Here's a link to their website

As far as boating the Delta, most sloughs are pretty good, just stay away from the main channels where the big boats are. Also, since it sounds like you've never been, get yourself a map and carry a gps....it's pretty easy to get lost out there.
Here's a couple of links with lots of good info on the Delta
    Delta Boating.com (http://www.deltaboating.com/)
California Delta Chambers and Visitors Bureau (http://www.californiadelta.org/homepage.htm)
When are you thinking about heading there?

Are you talking about the one on right side going up river right by the bridge, where the river turns right??? if so ok guess I see that as a little farther than just north of disco park.........

I think there is one at the end of Woodward Canal. There is also a beach near there where a lot of the locals hang.
