Getting ready to rebuild my pump( has not ran in about 18 years) I was wondering if they are worth the coin.
    Thanks

some may argue but I just installed one in my pump. I looked at it and not a single drip I followed don's advice and it was very easy. Less leaks= less water in the bilge = less worries
Well worth the $90 in my book...

Have installed several with 1 leak. It was a 1977 Dominator pump with some salt water use and the packing area was fairly corroded. Could probably have made it work, but figured the packing was the easy way out. We run them in both our blown alky Placecraft's, one being the record holder.
