Thread: trailer brakes - options, pros and cons, legal requirements

    Has anyone used this brake kit? Is this quality stuff? Are the hoses flexible enough for a swing away tongue?

    If they are not I can make DOT approved hoses that will be.

    I was looking into this a while ago for a salt water fishing boat. Someone makes an electric / hydraulic setup. Electric to the hitch on the trailer, hydraulic the rest of the way back. The best of both worlds. I'll see if I can find it again.

    My trailer is electric over hydraulic. There is a delay that takes some getting used to...but my rig is over 12,000lbs.
