I notice after a quick full speed burst, I get some oil sprayed out of the breather filter. its obviously due to vaccume but how can i correct this. everything apears to be hooked up right.

Installing a pcv will usually correct or at least help the problem or if you already have one, it might be plugged.
    What engine?

I had that same problem with my 540, I went through a dozen different breathers and just this spring switched to tall billet ones and that solved the problem
    No more oily mess

    Steve,
this is the best pic i have as of now. It does have a different carb now. a 830 Holley Race Carb. but set up the same way. I have way better pics i can email but this is the best i have as far as being able to send a link.

the reason I asked for a pic was to see if you had a breather on both valve covers and if the pcv was attached to one of them. I've seen a couple of different breather/pcv caps that were open on the bottom which deemed the system useless. Your's isn't that way so it should be good to go.
Is that the same breather that the oil is coming out of?
    nice looking boat!
