Does anyone use a solar charger on their RV or Boat and how does it work?

The power density of PV cells is way too low for them to be of use.
Even if you had a big enough array to get a couple of amps out of them, you'd be better off just getting a bigger battery for more time away from an AC charger.

My buddie at work uses them on his RV. He got a couple of used Cellular tower batteries that he charges. He said they run real good. I still am not sure why he needs them. He has a generator. He says it's so it doesn't have to run all the time with the air conditioning on. I have been trying to get one of those batteries from him for a while now for the boat. They have to replace them every 6 months or something even though they are still good. They are backup batteries in case the power goes out, they still need the cell towers to operate. Rediculous power capabilities on those things.
