BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. -- A well-known actor in Big Bear remains in custody Sunday night after a bizarre incident.
Big Bear resident Steve Gaghagen is charged with felony DUI and willful infliction of cruelty to a child under 18.
Police said Gaghagen, 58, was driving in a car with a 17-year-old boy when his car struck two vehicles just after 4 a.m. July 9, according to a report by the Big Bear Grizzly newspaper.
The pair had just finished skinny-dipping in Big Bear Lake, and both were naked at the time of the accident, police said.
The unclothed Gaghagen was asked to remain in his vehicle by one of the other drivers involved in the accident -- since the man's family was traveling with him -- according to the newspaper report.
Gaghagen is being held on $100,000 bail.

Well...........he did play "Fagin" in Oliver! at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center once. Look here on page 11. (http://www.inlandreview.com/ier1103.pdf) I can't even make up stuff that funny.
get a rope........... :crossx:
You mean well known to the K thru 6 grade boys crowd. I don't think, OJ, a drunk airline pilot, nor Michael Jackson could BS their way out of this one. But I heard Johnny Cochran will come back if it goes to court. This looks like a case for LT. Frank Drebbin and Police Squad! How many other children have gotten "swiming lessons" from the "famous actor"? Did I hear someone say, "get a rope"?
BIG BEAR LAKE- the Community Arts Theater Society (CATS) immediately suspended Board Member Steve Gaghagen upon receiving notification of his arrest and charges following a traffic accident on July 9, 2006. According to CATS CEO, Russ Lowery, the suspension will remain in effect until the Aug. 1st board meeting, during which the executive board will review all available facts and take further action.
Lowery further stated that, due to the nature of the charges, he fully expects Gaghagen will be dismissed from the Board and organization, as such behavior is contrary to the mission of the organization. Gaghagen had also been immediately pulled from the cast of CATS next production of A Christmas Carol, which will open at the Performing Arts Center on Nov. 17, 2006.
