This can be helpfull in sound reduction at idel, but... You will need hig risers, a steep rake, and I would put on flaps. You do have a risk of big damage if water backs up.
I know this will be a dumb question
But if I do straight thru exhaust..will it hurt to have the tips(with flapers) underwater(the top of tips will just be covered..they wont be deep) at a idle?...they will come out of water when on plane.. if anyone has seen a 180celebrity when setting in the water..the transom is mostly under water...till the boat comes on plan..and only other option would be to run them out of the corners of the stern..

it would be a real steep angle to the transom..
it would drop about 8 to 10 inches...would that be enough?

Looks like I will be saving my lunch money and just buy a part at a time..over the rest of summer
and installing a new exhaust this winter...
