For the price, you cannot beat a High Flow Dynamics motor by LakesOnly. For a used running motor, you will pay anywhere from $650-$1,500 and who knows what kind of condition it is in. I think you can get a HFD motor for $1,900-$2,200? so the little bit more you pay, you are going to get a fresh motor with some love shown to it.
Ask Paul about ported DOVE heads, you can get anywhere from 75-90hp with a set.
My problem is currently I have a YJ jet, and can't go w/ too much HP till I get the pump energized, which won't be till next winter at the earliest. I will talk to him agian though. He was really helpful when I talked to him before...
