Prop Help!!!!

Just finished my 1994 Checkmate 25' with a 489 stroker With a bravo 1. Having major prop slip issues, I tried a 24 three blade & the boat got out of the hole but as I got on it the prop didn't feel as it was hooking up. The prop didn't blow out it just didn't seem to do anything past 3000 rpm. This is my first go fast so any help would be appreciated. Do I need a bigger prop & also what about a 4 blade, the eng. is dynoed at 625 hp. THANKS

For a boat that size, I'd go with a 4-blade.

go bravo 4 blade 26 pitch for power and a 30 pitch for speed you want to keep RPM at or under 5000. i have 26' cat with 600hp 496 and this combo works great.

depends on your gear ratio I'm running a 28 lab finish bravo I four blade with about 525 hp and a 1:65 gear You probably have a 1:50 gear so 26 pitch may be enough

Thanks for the advice, I thoight it was to small of a prop. It is the 1:50 gear ratio, so I can get my hands on a 26 4 blade I will give it a try.

Call Throttle UP 727-531-2255 they can dial you in with ther test prop program before you wind up with expensive paper weights like I did before I found them.

I have a 25 pitch P-5 Hydromotive, been in the water once.

hey just for thought i have a 13 3/4 x 22 pitch 4 blade stainless if you want to try it. i have a 468 turbo motor and only getting 4200 rpm out of it. being you have the hp you may be anle to get the speed with this . i have a bravo 1 also . ill take off boat and ship to you to try. if you got something may help me ship to me. if anything worth a shot. my gear reduction is 1.5 also.... tht test prop thing is good idea im going to look into it also

Finally got the right prop it ended up being a 26 4 blade & she topped out at 78 mph. That was crazy fast for me, I probally didn't ever do 50 in a boat before. Thanks for the replys now I got to get comfortable with the speed.
