Hey Mardi Gras.I tried to get hold of you in a thread at AzDon's but never heard back from you.So Art told me to try you over here.I have a 66 Mandella short deck that I'm going to get a new prop for but would like some input as to what gear ratio and prop size and pitch to use as a starting point.Right now I have a 650+ hp 514 Ford that will spin 7000 rpms very reliably with 22% gears and a 11-1/2 x 15 menkins prop from Dallas in Pheonix. The problem with the prop is it has alot of backcut to it to allow it to slip coming out of the hole pulling a skier. The prop was made for the boat when it only had a 460 with 400 Hp.The new motor is stroked and a full roller motor.Anyone else who would like to comment your input is welcome.
