Ok I'm running a nevoane pump on an aluminum timing chain cover. I just checked the end play on the cam and its about .200 way to much. Should I run a steel timing chain cover with a button and an electric water pump? If so what water pumps will have sufficiant pressure to pop the T valve for my Bassett headers. Any input would help I have to decide today what I'm going to do.

You might want to fix the cam end-play problem first, .200" is way too much.

This must be a roller cam.
Could you make a .197" or so shim and put it between the cam and water pump drive?

well it turns out that I have .100 of end play and the water-pump has a part that can be taken off and a new one made to account for the play. thanks for the info guys I almost took the balancer, oil pan and timing cover back off.
