Thread: ok it dynoed at....

    ok my 540 dynoed at 945 hp and 923 lbs of torque but that was with dry headders and 10lbs of boost from a procharger. any idea how much hp i will loose with cmi marine exhaust? are these good numbers for a 540 with dart cnc heads and 30 deg of timing and 10lbs of boost. am i pushing this motor to far. the exh. temps topped out at about 1400 deg at full power and boost, is this to high? it has blower pistons and i never run less than 93 in it. should i drop the boost? does it seem ok? any input is great.

    Sounds like good numbers What the motor going in? I don't thing you'll see much of a loss if any with the CMI's. As long as you used good parts to build the foundation, it'll hold up. Donnie has about 900 horsepower in his Daytona and has almost 200 hours on it!

    all good parts in the motor from the crank up. it is going in a 25' switzer v bottom, should run well.

    How fast the boat goes is the only thing that matters.

    lets see how the xr drive holds up. it ran 81.2 mph with a procharged pretty much stock 502. it should have been around 550 to 600hp with the procharger. i got the back issue from 91' when powerboat did the test on the boat and it runs 71mph with a stock 502 carb motor when they tested it. fast hull, should be a handful

    Cyl temp of 1,300 to 1,400 F is where I'd run it.

    I have 01 26 daytona with a 540 m3 procharger efi pfm chiller,and engine gorrila mgnt.system,with 8 psi.,about 750hp. at 5800 rpm.does your moter have a chiller,that makes a big differnce.I dont think your drive will hold up either.I would back off to 8psi,i think everything will hold up better.

    i dont know what the diff. is. My motor is a bbc 540 30 over with 8.25:1 comp. m3 procharger with regular procharger 504 intercooler. Dart 335 cc cnc ported alum. heads, nickerson built carb, cust. ground blower cam (hyd roller) roller rockers, 500hp intake, 30 deg. locked msd dist and ignition, inconell exhaust valves, manely pro series rods, billet crank, what else???? it idles at 900 without missing a beet. the last number on the dyno sheet gets cut in 1/2 to figure out boost. check it out and see what i may be missing.
