Have a 2006 Chevy Vortec Max,6.0 345 HP Crew cab, 410 gears, HD supension. 14-15 MPG. Had a 2002 5.3 373 gears 20-22 MPG. Tow a Rinker 260 Fiesta V. The 5.3 worked hard to pull the Rinker, 6.0 doesn't labor near as much. Ride of the 06 on 17" tires is way better than the 02. 6.0 doesn't use as much gas as the 5.3 does towing.

i had the 2005 6.0 (300 hp, 360 lb/ft) ...it did the job pulling my 24ft'r on flats,but it struggles a bit with any long/steep inclines. Man that thing sucks on gas mpg. Around town driving the computer consistantly read 11.3 mpg, and i drive like a grandma. the only time i want to go fast is when im towing, and it will get you going but your foot is in it and those rpms are screamin. Towing up any kind of grades- for get about it, your not passing any gas stations. The 6.0 high output (345 hp, 380 lb/ft) may be a better choice cause i heard good things but have no personal experience. Good luck
