650 Holley 4 barrel float adjustment. To get more fuel in the bowl do you turn the jam nut clockwise or counterclockwise?

If I'm not mistaken, turning it Clockwise raises the float level....

The screw locks it down and seals it. The nut adjusts the float level and you take the screw out of the side of the bowl and adjust it running. You lower the level until no fuel dribbles out the hole or raise it till just before it does. You shold pre-set the level before installing the bowl, and fine tune with it running!

The needle/seat assy. actually screws into a threaded hole on the bowl. So, clockwise screws it down deeper into the bowl and lowers the fuel level, and left( counterclockwise) raises the level.. There are two types of needle/seat assys. The original holley uses the nut to adjust, and the screw to lock/seal in place. The "off brand" kits use the slot in the top of the assy to adjust, and the nut to lock/seal in place. If you have the bowl off the carb, set the float top level (parallel) with the top of the bowl while the bowl is inverted,(upside down) this is VERY close to perfect, and usually needs no further adjustment. The sight plug on the side of the bowl will verify proper settings..Moneypitt
